Tân Tân’s line of sauces have grown out of recipes the Tran family prepares and serves at its Vietnamese restaurant near Portland, Oregon. The family escaped Vietnam as war refugees in 1976, and later opened the restaurant after re-settling in the U.S.  The name Tân Tân and the Chinese characters within the logo translate as “new beginning.”
With the packaging design for their sauces, we wanted to honor the family’s Vietnamese heritage while creating a strong aesthetic appeal among local Portland-area consumers. We also wanted to communicate the promise of an artisan-quality, locally-made brand.
